Hundreds of teens and young adults join the Korean talent contest
‘KPOP Star’ in hopes to be the next KPOP Idol and be known across the
globe. But if you have watched some of KPOP Star’s episodes, you then
know that it isn’t easy to win the hearts of the judges.
One of the recent contestants of the said show received so much
attention after many netizens learned that she was actually a Filipina.
Kriesha Tiu (Crisha Choo) joined KPOP Star 6 and immediately won the
hearts of the judges. As a matter of fact, all three judges wanted to
scout her, too!
What we know about Kriesha Tiu (Crisha Choo):
Kriesha is a 18-year-old Filipino born in Cebu, Philippines. Her
family then moved to San Fransisco, California, where she was cast by
Urban Works Entertainment, prompting her to move to Korea. She learned
the Korean language in under a year, while training for the said
entertainment company.
After a year of training, Kriesha Tiu tested her luck and showcased her
talents on KPop Star 6, where she was initially eliminated. She was then
brought back and joined the trio ‘KWINs’ under YG Entertainment, and
they were the runner-ups for the said show. She has become one of the
most popular celebrities from the show, especially in the Philippines.
On May 23, 2017, Kriesha’s first song ‘Trouble’ produced by HIGHLIGHT’s
Junhyung, made its debut. Kriesha was then invited to many other shows
to promote her new song. Many KPOP fans gave her a warm welcome,
especially Filipino fans who continued to support her throughout her
debut.
Though her outfits on the video weren’t as attractive to many, her dance moves and voice gained her many fans.
Way to go Kriesha!
